Situated Garden

A participatory web artwork by Jove Spucchi.

A name becomes a place you can enter. Each web address holds a shared composition of fragments and connections. The domain sets its conditions: a place can be precarious, sheltered, belonging, or situated.

Visitors leave material and tend what others have left. Automated weather and decay act on that material. What remains depends on the conditions of the place and the attention it receives.

Take part

Enter an existing garden or compose a name in the Clearing. Start with a short text, read another fragment, and return to the same address later. No account is required. The canvas is public and shared.

How to take part explains the controls, care limits and what is currently active.

Public beta

Naming, shared text, fragment care, connections and recorded changes are available now. Whole-garden mortality is implemented separately and is not automatically active for public gardens. Experimental media and generated interpretations are not required to participate.

This is an evolving artwork. A visit is an encounter with the current system; it is not a promise of permanent storage.

The opening fragments in together.situated.in are AI-authored texts selected from the edition’s opening set. Visitor contributions are separate.
